Helpful Winter Tips for Keeping Fuel Costs Low
While low fuel costs from SOB Oil & Earthworks Company and fuel assistance programs can help keep heating costs affordable, there are also a few tips to follow during the wintertime that can help.
Watch Your Fuel Levels!
You will use more heating fuel when the temperatures are extremely cold. Never let your fuel level go below one-forth of a tank before you place your order for your next delivery.
Plan Ahead and Order Fuel Early!
Avoid running out of fuel by ordering your supply early. Our drivers are extremely busy during freezing temperatures, which makes delivery times take longer. Plan ahead when it comes to snow storms. During extremely inclement weather, we may have to pull all our trucks in for the safety of our employees. If you know a storm is in the forecast, plan ahead and place your order early.
Plow Your Driveway!
Please have your driveway plowed well enough for a delivery truck to get through. If your driveway is covered in snow and/or ice, or is only wide enough for a car to fit through, the driver may not be able to make your delivery.
Ensure That Our Delivery Trucks Can Reach Your Fill Pipe!
Your driver also needs to be able to get to your fill pipe to complete your order. If they cannot find your fill pipe because it is covered in snow and ice, they may not be able to make your delivery. Please keep a path shoveled, this will help them stay on schedule and get to each customer in a timely manner.
